Those children have far fewer food allergies than Jewish children in the United Kingdom, who received peanut snacks much later. The recommendation to not delay introduction of potential allergenic food represents a complete reversal from the 2000 position of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology when the organization advocated delay.
